Today I join Linux Day in Ferrara (yep, Italy!). New for 2007: Businss Track! This sessions are dedicated to businesses and public administrations who wants to meet suppliers and designers of Open Source solutions, which was be available to participants for individually discuss about possible solutions.
Stefano Marchetti, old frinds and college of mine, had inroduced a quite significant case study on Plone technology for the Ferrara's Chamber of Commerce.
More than 40 people join the Business Track today, both from companies and public administrations. Really a success especially because this is the first time business meets Open Source solutions in Linux Day. We will be back in 2008!

This wine is special
Last Saturday evening we finally open this bottle of wine bought in South Africa in December 2004. Yes this is a awards winning wine:
- Gold: Decanter Wine Show, London (May 2005)
- John Platter Guide 2006: 5 Stars*
- Voted as John Platter WINE OF THE YEAR 2006
- Double Gold: Michelangelo International Wine Awards of S.A. 2005
- Gold: Mundus Vini International Wine Awards, Germany 2005
- 90 Points Wine Spectator (April 2006)
To produce this dense and powerful wine, half the crop is dropped during the growing season.Aromas of spicy blackberry and toasty oak lead to complex flavours of ripe berry fruit, violet and currant on the smooth palate.

Lotus Collaboration Summit

Well done! Yesterday I joined the Lotus Collaboration Summit in Milan, a "don't miss" event since Mr Ed Brill was there as well as Monica Tassinari, Davide Pannuto, Roberto Boccadoro, Davide Iesini and Marina Artoni . I'm sure to forget someone, if so, please apologize me and send me the update.
The event takes place at Jolly Hotel in Milanofiori, and start at 09.30 with a visit at the showcase: many Italian IBM BP and the Lotus italian community Dominopoint.it. In the morning strategies, announcement (aka what's new in 8.0.1, next and behind) and news from Ed, Monica and Davide. As other big vendor IBM plan to release a major release every 2 years (wow notes 9 in '09, marketing deal!).
Lunch time: good food, red wine and a "so and so" coffee put us in the condition to desire to take a nap but in the afternoon hot topics wake we up, definitely. Hot topics includes Notes and Domino 8 (amazed about Quickr and Notes integration about email attach), Connections (yes Roberto now we've more than one reason to push this) e Quickr.
Now the tour goes on with other Italian dates including Roma (10 oct), Bologna (12 oct), Padova (16 oct), Palermo (18 oct). For me it is the last Lotus event in the year, see you in Orlando next January!
