Day 2 at Lotusphere 2008

Monday is the "Opening general session" day! In 2007 we had Neil Armstrong, this year is the turn of Bob Costas. I'm sure all the Americans enjoy a lot but well for us coming from Europe is different. Enyway I get fun to hear about that Patriots fan who predicted Patriots wins NFL every time a Russian revolution take place.

On the OGS the first announce was about "Atlantic" project: a deep integration between SAP and Lotus Notes.

Then is the turn of Domino Web Access (iPhone, Lite mode and much more!!!) and of a challenge between Lotus Notes development team and Lotus Domino development team: every teams have explained all the news in the upcoming versions.

And finally three brand new products: Lotus Mashups, Lotus Foundations and Bluehouse.

After the OGS I join this sessions:
  • ID101: What's new in the IBM Lotus Notes
  • BP104 Die Hard - Deciphering a IBM Lotus Domino Server Crash
  • ID202: IBM Lotus Domino Administration

Day 1 at Lotusphere 2008

On Sunday we have a warm-up day here at Lotusphere. Today I join this sessions:

  • HND302 IBM Lotus Sametime Gateway – setup and administration
  • JMP302 All Things Mail with IBM Lotus Domino
  • JMP208 Leveraging the IBM Lotus Sametime Platform
  • HND107 Using IBM Lotus Domino Notes System Diagnostic (NSD) – A practical Guide
If you haven’t join the “hands on” about NSD before you have to. You will decrypt a NSD easily, navigate in the fatal thread and discover which database, views, agents or document causes the problem.

One of the biggest news of the day, it will be announced tomorrow during the opening general session: it’s about Lotus Foundations. Lotus Foundations follow the acquisition discussed in the last day by IBM on Net Integration Technologies Inc., From Net Integration Technologies web site:

Landed in Orlando

After a 10 plus something hours flight, finally we arrived in Orlando. Flight was good, just some little turbulence. As I always do I order special food (Asian vegetarian this time): if you do that usually you will be the first to be served, than you can relax, take a nap or watch a movie on Inflight entertainment.

Now we have one day off than Lotusphere will begin. It will be really a tough week.

Lotusphere 2008 after party

Directly from John David Head's blog:

OK folks .. it is that time. I need a rough count of how many people want to attend. The plan is still to have something on-site at a conference hotel, with a fixed fee that includes use of the room, bad food (pizza or subs), and beverages. Figure between $50 and $60 US.

Here the permanent link for yours submission.
